Fresh Refrigerator Pickles

*very* easy refrigerator pickles

1 cup cold water
1 cup vinegar
2 cups sugar (you can cut back on the sugar, we do)
1/2 cup or so of green onions, sliced
cucumbers, sliced, to fill your jar

Combine in glass jar at least a day ahead. The flavor gets better after a couple days, if they are around that long. : )
You can add other things like fresh dill, a jalapeno, mustard seeds, etc.
